Description
Calibre Companion (CC), recommended by calibre developers, is three applications in one:
- a superb device-based calibre library organiser
- a high-performance WiFi-based calibre device emulator
- a calibre content server and cloud provider client (Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive)
1) CC is a device-based calibre library organiser. Once you put books on your device using one of the connection methods described below you can:
- view a book's metadata (author, tags, series, rating, dates, etc.).
- sort and group books by their metadata.
- see book lists by cover or by list.
- mark books read and sync this information with calibre.
- launch your book reader application to read a book
2) CC can connect to calibre over WiFi and be detected by calibre as a device. Once connected, you use calibre to move books to and from your device. Calibre automatically updates all the book metadata stored by CC to match the latest in your library.
3) CC can connect to calibre’s content server or to your cloud provider to browse your library and download books to your device. Supports Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive.

Cela marche moins bien depuis la version 5.1.0 de calibre portable.
On peu se connecter mais pas télécharger les livres, avec iPhone et iPad.
Si c’est un bon logiciel .
Pouvez vous faire quelque chose ?

Dommage. Je ne pense pas que votre application fonctionne si vous laissez cet abonnement en place. Cher et inutile. Mettez l’appli payant à la rigueur. Ou mettez la gratuite complètement. Il y a d’autres alternatives gratuites.

It used to be a convenient, if a bit clunky, app to sync an iPad with calibre. New versions added ads, so now after paying for it it started sending my data to third party companies ! Should an app that is not free and that simply manages ebooks do that ? I don’t think so.
It also started pestering the user with ads for a premium calibre service, which I don’t want and it takes several clicks ok each launch to get past that annoying screen.
So now, if I want to copy a book from my laptop to my reader app, I have to ping google’s adservers with god knows what data and repeatedly click through the mag screen. It’s a disgrace.

J’avais déjà acheté l’application, et j’aurais acheter une mise à jour avec plaisir mais devoir passer par un abonnement sans aucune considération par le fait d’avoir déjà acheter l’appli par le passé non merci.

Dommage. Ce programme très pratique méritait sans doute d'augmenter son prix en créant une nouvelle version par exemple. Nous l'aurions acheté avec plaisir. Mais s'abonner à un logiciel qui n'évolue pas c'est de l'abus. On va trouver autre-chose.

Calibre compagnon peux se connecter au calibre sur l.ordinateur pour pouvoir récupérer des livres. Ce n'est pas aussi pratique qu'une application qui se connecte directement à la bibliothèque calibre mais c'est proche. Je recommande cette application à tous les utilisateurs de calibre.
Rien à voir avec Calibre pour Mac !!!

Je pensais avoir l’équivalent du Calibre pour mac...
Y transférer ma bibliothèque et lire sur ipad mes pdf voir epub
Mais impossible de lire un pdf avec....

I downloaded this app as I was expecting it to have the same server feature as in the windows software. My aim was to be able to browse my library on my iPhone through a HTML based page.
Unfortunately I don't think this app has this feature. So I'm a bit missing the point of this app.

Excellent, my full library is now on my iPhone (670 books - 500+ MB). When use as a mirror copy your pc or mac Calibre library it works very well. I use Marvin as reader.
Pros: find/sort/filter books by metadata ! Allow to look quickly at the book summary, faster than opening the book.
Cons: store its data in the shared space, so the space taken by the library is not seen in the memory usage attached to the app. I also didn't succeed in sync back the read flag to my PC without strange behavior (book no more seen as on the device)

Efficace et rapide pour accéder à sa bibliothèque calibre (même conséquente). Seul bémol, il manque un reader intégré pour rester dans l'application ; espérant que cela soit comblé dans une prochaine version.
