Description

I’ve spent over 20 years studying the emotions and experiences that bring meaning and purpose to our lives, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s this: we are hardwired for connection, and connecting requires courage, vulnerability, and conversation. I want this to be a podcast that’s real, unpolished, honest, and reflects both the magic and the messiness of what it means to be human. Episodes will include conversations with the people who are teaching me, challenging me, confusing me, or maybe even ticking me off a little. I'll also have direct conversations with you about what I’m learning from new research, and we'll do some episodes dedicated to answering your questions. We don’t have to do life alone. We were never meant to.

The value of this woman and her team is unfathomable. She is changing hearts and minds across the world one conversation/presentation at a time. Science and Kindness coalesce in her immensely personal and supremely warm delivery. Brené makes the hard parts of the human condition accessible and encourages self-awareness and empathy in a gentle and nurturing manner. She is making strangers better people and she is the guidance I need in my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Additionally, I am so grateful for audio content - as a busy mum I haven’t had a chance to read my copy of Daring Greatly but I can listen to her life guidance while I’m working. Please keep up the excellent work. Love the music too. 🙏

I find so many of these episodes just exactly what I need to hear at the time. Love your solo eps just as much as interviews. I’ve listened to so many of your books via audible and sounds true, so I’m so grateful to have this new content every week right now!
You’ve also introduced us to Ted Lasso, such a delight!

Dear Brene
I want to thank you so much for all of these episodes that you talked to us through souls.
your words touched my soul and heart. You open our minds and hearts. You are making world a better place. we have much more hope in a better future because there are people like you out door. People that are doing their best to connect us together and make us to feel better as we are connecting with ourselves and others deeper and in a more human way.
Pandemic made me to get deep to the darkest part of my soul, I didn't like what I found. You helped me to get comfortable with myself and get others better too.
I am a big fan of you, your research and all the things you do for us.
I am so proud to be a part of your community.
I am braver, kinder and more comfortable with awkwardness
Love you

Often we feel so awkward with moments of pause and silence. In the interview I love that Alicia had moments where she paused to process and truely listen to Brene’s thoughts on her book, and know in her gut the moment didn’t need to filled idle chatter. I think through all that is happening now we need to become comfortable with space and pause . Beautiful interview, heart filled

Super helpful.

I’ve just listened to the episode with Glennon Doyle, and it stopped me in my tracks. This should be in school curriculum and for young women entering the workforce. Throughout my career I have struggling with beliefs, power, truth and I realise now it is being understood that is the challenge for me. This conversation explored many notions.

Thank you for your amazing books and podcast Brené. I am a mum with a daughter that has a diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis, Autism, ADHD and an intellectual disability. I have gained so much insight into navigating my feelings and emotions as you give them a name, define them and then tools to navigate around them. I would love you to use more examples or interview people in the disability community and perhaps talk about chronic sorrow. Parents with children with disabilities get shamed for admitting they grief the loss of the life they hoped for and we are left to feel lonely and isolated and we in turn feel guilty for feeling sad. I would love you to talk about this more ❤️❤️❤️ I love your work and your podcast. My favourite podcast however is Too Peas in a podcast where they talk about parenting twins with disabilities. Thank you 🙏

Words to live by. Brene is a wonderfully sensible voice in a world of tweetable quotes. A straight shooting Texan, she is intelligent, funny and a very interesting person to listen to. We all have lived through shame, guilt, embarrassment and it’s great to learn more about what it is and how it affects us. Thank you Brene for taking the time to help us become more awkward, brave and kind.

I have really appreciated listening to your interviews during lock down. Even though I live in Australia I feel a connection to so many of the topics and guest speakers. I like the 10 quick questions at the end they help to make the guests more relatable.

I feel like this should be compulsory listening. Brené pushing back HELPED, because I was so triggered by so much of this. So nourishing though and so IMPORTANT. Apologising and being apologised to are such demolition points for so many relationships. Loving this and the discussions it’s raising. Thank you Brene 🙌🏽
