The town of Halifax was founded in 1749, was incorporated as a city in 1842 and later became the Halifax Regional Municipality in 1996. We are known to the world as the hometown of Alexander Keith's beer, a resting place for victims of the Titanic, and the site of the tragic Halifax Explosion. 

But modern day Halifax is an entrepreneurial, culinary and musical hot spot. We are also a must visit destination for adventure travellers and beer tourists!
