BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) is a UPI enabled initiative to facilitate safe, easy & instant digital payments through your mobile phone.
Requirements:

Before you register on the app, please ensure the following:
You have linked your Mobile Number with your Bank Account and the same is used for accessing BHIM.
Your phone should have an active SIM linked to your Bank Account.
In case of Dual SIM, kindly ensure that you’ve selected the SIM card linked to your Bank Account.
You have a valid Debit Card for your Bank Account. This is required to generate UPI PIN.

I would not recommend this app. After working fine for a few days, suddenly it doesn’t allow to top up the UPI-lite account saying insufficient balance, when it is not the case. Then after some time it stops recognising the passcode, even when I type the correct one. I reset the passcode. I disable the UPI-lite and want to deregister the the UPI id so that I can delete the app, but no! it says you have UPI lite enabled so cannot deregister it. What a disaster of a product!

I started using this app since its launch, however nothing improved so far. It used to lag in my old samsung phone and it still lags in my new iPhone 15. I was using BHIM since it’s launch and really loved the application. But abruptly the minimum required iOS version for the app is bumped to IOS 17 which I can’t upgrade to. This is compelling me to stop using BHIM and switching to alternatives. This is deeply frustrating and does not make logical sense to drop userbase using not very old iOS versions. A review to lower the supported version will be appreciated.

I recently used this app to pay my postpaid bill. While the payment went through successfully (my bank confirmed the deduction), there was no clear confirmation on the app screen itself. This lack of confirmation is concerning, as it could lead to accidental duplicate payments, especially if I'm unsure whether the first attempt went through. An on-screen confirmation message or transaction history update would be greatly appreciated to avoid any confusion.
Additionally, it would be helpful if the app could automatically detect the appropriate account (UPI credit card or bank account) for P2M transactions or payments to bank accounts, especially when both options are linked within the same BHIM account. This would streamline the payment process and eliminate the need to manually select the account each time and to avoid re attempting the payment

Messy Account Pin set up

For last few days not able to transact money from my default account, with message that your upi pin is not set please proceed to set your UPI pin . And while i am trying to generate one it is asking about my debit card number which I don’t have one . So in nutshell to get the pin generated i have to apply for a new debit card ( which I don’t need ) , wait for its arrival then using the card get my pin generated .
BHIM or UPI is supposed to help customers to do transactions without going to bank . But slowly these apps also becoming cumbersome, with regular changes like automatic pin deactivation and extra unnecessary features. All in name of safety.
But why the hell you people are trying to make it a bank like with multiple unnecessary additions which ultimately renders unsafe due to its wider application.
And how many passwords can a person remember in today’s life if all applications and internet sites started asking for regular password change .
Now Situation is like you can’t keep one password for all for safety reasons and neither can remember so many passwords in today’s world .
These things are not making life or transaction easier rather cause anxiety due to above mentioned impossibility.
Hope app developers understand this difficulty. Whether you understand or not , i think it’s better the old way than unnecessary absurd and ever increasing impossible terms from these internet based uses .

Not working on iPhone 15 pro

After changing my phone to iPhone 15 pro this stop working. I see my 6 digit upi pin now needs to reset but when I reset it from account’s reset pin option it’s keep processing but nothing happens. I don’t know how to contact Bhim so that they can fix this issue. I submitted my query through Bhim website but no response I got. I also contacted my bank as well but they cannot help me because 6 digit pin is stored at BHIM side not bank side. I have some mandates as well with my Bhim which I cannot control now. I am completely stuck. It’s too bad if Bhim cannot hear its customers then no reason to increase the user base.
I am sorry to say but, I request Bhim either provide support to your customers or ask them to move to other platforms if you cannot support.

Bhim upi app lets you create a upi id of your choice. The app has very less and exactly what you need options. No bs.
About registering: Very little time is given to select the sim, if you have two, while sending sms to register. The windows closes just after a second or two, it is like a reaction game you have to play with the app, and then only after 3 attempts, it tells to wait 24 hours. You can always uninstall and reinstall the app to reset the timer, and attempt to play the reaction-time game with the app. Once you register, it is a simple and fantastic app.

I’ve been BHIM user since launch and don’t have any other payment app but when the app was maturing quite well but all of the sudden you overhaul entire UI to the most pathetic and useless state ever! It was very good earlier but now it’s totally useless.
Frequently used task buttons are difficult to locate, placement of icons is not intuitive, there are a lot of bugs (redirecting to contacts when clicked on pay), no way to check out accounts in a single click, can’t opt-out of LITE popup and it’s even more difficult to locate options in side tray.
I don’t understand which useful idiot with fancy degree is working for competition on NPCI payroll? How can any sane PM authorise this regressive change?

The app is simple and does what it says. Best part is you get notifications only when you receive payments and not for any unnecessary stuff like offers etc.
Only suggestion - payments received and sent both are in Green and failed payments are in Red. Would suggest received payments in Green and payments made in Red. Failed payments may be hidden or in some neutral colour like Grey, since it needn’t be that prominent.

App doesn’t work on mobile data of Vodafone-Idea network

I really like the app it is intuitive and first hand. It has been sometime now that the aap won’t allow to login when using mobile data(Vodafone-Idea network). It allows to login if I am on other network like home or office or if connected to someone else’s mobile hotspot. This issue renders this aap useless when we have no option but to use mobile data.
It’s the login that fails with error “Something went wrong”. I am sure it’s the login request that fails because login works when using other network.
Also this issue is with other users of Vodafone-Idea network. I can ask them to write similar review to bring the issue into notice.

Issue with account addition and credit card

I have added two account SBI and HDFC
. But UPI pin working only for HDFC not for SBI everytime I do I get error as Upi pin is not set whereas when i set UPI pin using app it get cancelled at last stage ..
and on the other hand I don’t have option to add credit with off bank, axis bank, hsbc, we do option to add Hdfcbank credit card but with my registered it is showing as no card is registered .. which is incorrect
Please resolve and provide proper support to iOS devices. We don’t want to use PhonePe or google pay but problem is of support Bhim app is too slow and no user friendly , and hangs lot of the time .. while payment and cache doesn’t work ..

It’s a good payment aap if the connectivity is good. Erratic connection makes it unreliable. I see there are several users who agree that BHIM was good once up on a time, but now it is becoming a big hurdle to use BHIM, indefinite waiting for the app to load, payment failures etc have become the norm. Some even suspect whether NPIC is purposely degrading the app’s quality to promote other UPI providers.
Suggest to provide option to select several saved billers at the same time and make the payment with a single click. Government should make it mandatory for online vendors to enable BHIM as the first option for their customers to make payments.

I have faced the same issue of money deduction and not getting it back many times in 2019. I have still not got a penny from that deducted amount till now. I faced the same issue 6 days back also on 30th june and after waiting for 6 days when i contacted bhim app customer care exectuive talked to me like i am a begger and he have all rights to shout at me. He was talking like i am asking a loan from him or like a doing a fake complaint. This was worst experience of my life where customer care deals like this with clients. I will not recommend this app to anyone. As when u will help their customer care will love to abuse and annoy you in their own words and would not help u in any way and say please contact the bank or the other party where you were making the payment. Bhim app is helpless to help their clients because pf their customer care executives

The latest version is broken - the mobile phone number verification keeps timing out

Extremely disappointed wit the new version. I have tried to complete my mobile phone verification atleast 10 times but it keeps timing out. I tried to uninstall the application and reinstall to make it work, but nothing seems tk work. The application asks me to send an SMS to initiate verification. Once the SMS is sent, I receive an SMS stating that verification process has started. However after waiting for a minute I get an error stating that the verification process has times out. This keeps happening and the verification is never completed. This error is a show stopper bug and I am unable to use this application now

BHIM was functioning very well until the latest update of IOS. I used the app to make online transactions frequently and I loved it because of it’s ease of use. But now since the mobile verification fails I am unable to use it. Please fix the problem so that hundreds of thousands of people can continue to use BHIM on iphone. Constant updating is required. Otherwise BHIM is going to be a dead horse. Thanks.

Although of late BHIM upi has been absolutely seamless and without any glitches -which seems to ail almost all bank upi unfortunately- I still take some issue with its tedious complaint raising process in case some transaction does get wound up astray! It can be made simpler in my opinion. Also since morning today I haven’t been able to do any transaction through the app though the app is updated and there seems to be no internet issues. Do look into this since for most this could be the easiest way to do online transaction.

Problem in Face id login

After logging out of the app, it returns back to loging page again and the system is designed such a way that it reads the face id again and login. Hence making an infinite loop of logout-login. It makes very difficult to log out( by keeping phone away from face so that it can’t read the face)
Correct it please.. that after logout either it should not return back to login page and if it returns then should not read the face and login again...

It is really sad that no one is helping me with my concern I am using apple I phone 6 and Bhim is not running on my phone although my iOS is updated to latest version which is made available by apple. Really m feeling ashamed that I started using this app as no body is replying to me and telling that you need to buy new phone to run Bhim. Now tell me is this the answer i expect. There are thousands of people using I phone 6 so please think and tell who needs to change we the people or the software developer has to facilitate us. Thank you for your response the thing is apple is telling they can’t provide update for I phone 6 as update above ios 13 have crashed while testing neither you are providing us any solution please look at the matter as this is a serious matter

I feel very proud that Bhim UPI is an Indian app but than there are major problem with the application. This month on 5th of November I had done transaction of Rs 3000 where my account got debited but not credited to beneficiary account. It’s almost a month and I had raised concern for that but no reply from the executives of the App also today I had done transaction of Rs 390 again it’s showing pending and my account got debited. I know there would be some glitch but I am very much unhappy about the service Bhim App is delivering, also Google Pay seems to be the best regarding service and failure issues, but again question arises that should we trust a brand which is not Made in India over a brand Made in India. So if any executive who is looking up, please give a better service!!!!

Latest version broken with iOS 14

I upgraded to the newer version released yesterday/today but it seems to be broken on iOS 14. The application is crashing very often and when it doesn’t crash then also it is not loading properly. I’m unable to make any transaction due to this issue.
I’m happy that the issue was addressed and fixed quickly and the new version is released within couple of days itself. But I didn’t like the standard response given by the developer that there is no issue in app and I need to uninstall and install the app again.
There was a critical bug in the app which got fixed in next update so I was expecting a better reply accepting the fault and saying that it will be fixed soon.

Temporary fix the developer bring fails with every next iOS update. Why can't NPCI bring a permanent solution or declare it incompatible for these set of devises.
And the irritating part is when you reply to this review as if you don't understand the issue at all

Dear developers, BHIM app has stopped working saying it is not supported latest apple iOS. Could you please fix it as I am very proudful and dependent on BHIM upi transactions. We have 12.4.8 iOS as the latest software from Apple. We expect NPCI team to work on BHIM like how the other UPI provides do. I feel personally that this attitude is to promote other private vendors to be successful and bring Government owned companies to loose the market. This is only happening in INDIA and why don’t you treat all the citizens equally as it is developed for Citizens of INDIA, but made unusable by giving irrelevant reasons. We trust our government owned products and want see it to be successful more than any privately owned companies. My humble request is to develop our nation than joining the group, who wants to see our country undeveloped.

I have been trying this for days now and every time it sends the message for mobile number verification is either says verification failed or verification timed out. I have postpaid number so no issue of balance, I have tried doing this by disable WiFi, disabling VoLTE, Uninstalling and the. Again installing the app, have taken out and re inserted the sim, my number is updated with the bank and have been getting messages on this number from bank regarding OTP and transaction updates. I have even reported this issue on the app but nothing happened. Even after trying everything the issue persists. Really frustrating and disappointed with the support of the app

Hey Developers,
Thank you for the app you have been doing great to work hard towards making the app better but there is one serious fall back which I hope someone had told you if not don’t worry I am going to tell you.
As you know these days phones come with a full screen zero nodge and Iphones specially are trending without a button so fir that we have to close an app by sliding up from the bottom but that creates a barrier while we have to enter our UPI pin because the pin pd comes to the full screen without any margin at the bottom. So at times it closes the app or wrong pin is entered or sometimes serious attention about placing the finger is required. But the screen above it is empty and blank so we can have some margin and shift the key pad upwards so that to improve the UI and faster response without any mistakes.
If you still have any questions, please feel free to write back. Hoping to get the update soon.

So here’s my first ever review- I was and still am a huge fan of the app .. it provides easy to use interface and has good easy access features
But 2 months back- my app got deleted and I have never been able to reinstall the app
Everything has been tried and tested and the app gets stuck at “ sim verification “ page.
The same has been shared with BHIM team along with relevant screenshots and sim details but it has been all but futile efforts
At last- it’s been 2 months now and the app still doesn’t work- says a lot about the team’s effort to get the issues resolved with an update.. so here we are.. I would suggest all my friends waiting/ getting stuck at the sim verification page to keep calm and wait for the update(hopefully this year..haha)

Unable to install BHIM UPI on my iPhone

Hi I am unable to register my phone number on BHIM upi on my iPhone. My money get deducted for to send sms and even I tried *99# yet another amount gets deducted to send sms but no verification can be done. Registration is coming failed all the time. My phone number is registered with bank but yet it doesn’t verify. It’s coming registration failed all the Time. Very disappointing and frustrating too. Can You people help me out how to successfully register my phone number. It’s giving problem I suppose in iPhone. But I just read the review someone installed successfully in iPhone and it’s working great. But why can’t I install successfully. It says in instructions that the sim should be registered in your bank. My sim has My phone number which is officially registered in the bank. Please need your help.

Team, I have been using Bhim app on iPhone 6 for quite long and never had an issue. Now all of a sudden for the last couple of days I am unable to open Bhim app, it says "your device OS version doesn't support Bhim. Please update to the latest OS and try again."

I have been using this application since a long time now, but after the new version was launched with a added feature of being able to send the money to self, I have found that this “send to self” never works. You always end up with ‘could not send money’. And, this is when you are able to make transactions through all other options i.e. scan&pay or sending money to someone using their UPI id.
Would really appreciate a fix on this for iphone users.

The application is very good, is safe to use and secure. I have been using this for more than an year and so far it is my first choice application for online payments.
But all this confidence took a hit when I recently raised a concern about a wrong payment and even after 10 days there is no response to it. Most of the developers respond someway or the other, but in here they seem to not care at all.
If this is what it is, I don’t think this is a good platform to entrust with mobile payments. May be the lethargy of the government workforce has creeped in here too.

My IPhone was jailbroken many months ago and this app was not working without a warning at that time it says “your device is jailbroken and proceed at your own risk” when I proceed the app starts working everytime but now that I have restored my phone and now it is not jailbroken still I am getting the same message every time I entered the pin, even when I click on the proceed button on the warning pop-up the app fail to launch / it crashes, it is not opening. I have done forgot password, changed my app password, uninstalling and reinstalling and registering my phone number again but non of these things are working please tell me what can I do !

The app is crashing over and over again. I have been using it for months and like it very much, but it keeps asking me to register now. For the past few days, it also kept asking me to submit my password again and again and it takes so much time for the app to give me access after submitting the password. After it crashes multiple times, if I finally use it for some feature, it takes so much time and most of the times, either crashes or says that I cannot proceed because of technical issues. Please look into this as the problem has been persistent for a while now.

I am using this app from the week after launch. I was pretty happy using this app, but I am not in the position to give 4/5 star rating at this moment.
The app crashed multiple times and it went off during that time when it was critical for me to transfer money to my family. Due to this app failure, I landed up in paying additional charges for the IMPS service, which I used to transfer the amount because I had no other UPI platform.
Now I have installed Google Pay, which I can use seamlessly. Not a single failure from the last 3 months of installation. I am also enjoying the cash back received while transacting.
With Bhim I never expect a cash back, but only seamless service. Hope the developer can look into and remove all glitches / errors and privide continuous service.
Such applications are not used 24/7 by a user but is used as and when required. So the app must run flawlessly 24/7.

The app is mostly very helpfup, i have been making payments petty or big and this app has become my buddy when it comes to making a bank payment.
The only thing i dislike about it that it sometimes declines my payment quoting violation of bank policies, alltogether its a wonderful app.
I’d like to suggest one and all to start using it, it makes things simpler when it comes to transfering money atleast.
Also i am unable to add any new benficiary when i select a new bank, next button doesn’t work ac .Please fix that issue

Hi, I was using this app for past almost a year . One day I clicked something and from that day this is not working . I tried reinstalling it so many times , but still it’s not giving me the option of reregistering my phone no . It just shows me that check ur network, when my network is absolutely fine .
Also I had purchased medicines from my local pharmacy and during that time it did not work at first and at third attempt it worked and money was deducted from my account . But the next day early mrng at 6am , I got a message again of payment to the same pharmacy with same amount ! So I paid twice fr the same transaction and money has been deducted twice for me and the pharmacy says that they have received payment only once !
Don’t know how to retrieve my money back ?
Please help me start reusing this app.

Yesterday my BHIM app stopped working. It didn’t recognise the passcode. Thinking of it as a genuine error I clicked Forgot Password and then it’s showing UPI Registration Failed and stopped working completely..Having a problem is one thing and fixing the issue quickly is another! Apparently, you can raise an incident only once you are in the app ...alternative is to go to website and register a complaint...user experience is ridiculous on website...there is a limit of 100 characters to describe the issue...but it doesn’t show how many characters you have typed in so its trial and error...next when you submit the complaint you get automated email that “please try again it is because of slow network”...if you call on the toll free number, your call just doesn’t get answered...Very disappointing! Will move to Google Pat or Paytm😕

I have been using this app last one year without any issue. Making payments under 10k was simple and easy to almost everyone. I have suggested this to many and they also simply loved it.
On Saturday, Jan 5th, when I opened it for some payment, it did not accept the password and then it started to show device registration failed. Since I was very frequent user of this app, there is no question of wrong password entering.
Unfortunately, I did not find any support system for app problem. Can developer help me to get this back in use for me?

Earlier review..I have been using this app on iPhone since it’s launch. Almost flawless. In previous version it used to have few minor issues. Now since many months no issues observed. I use it to pay monthly milk bill, sports fees for my kids, grocery bill, electricity bill, mobile, broadband bill even pay to my car cleaner using this app, add money to Paytm & equity account , wherever possible I use it. I feel this app much more safe and easy to use than other apps. One small suggestion—> it should give us option to activate multiple bank accounts simultaneously , so that I can choose one of the account while making a transaction.

BHIM app is one of the most user friendly financial app in my phone .But today while I was trying to log in it was showing that the passcode I entered was wrong ..The same msg popped up several time even after I entered the correct passcode .so I thought some issue might have happened with the passcode nd clicked tht forgot passcode button and the app got hang ..so I deleted it nd tried to reinstall .But even after reinstallation am not able to open the reregister it again ..kindly do some thing fast as I depend this for most of my transactions .

It was one of the most buggy apps at the beginning and now it is one of the most easiest apps to use for making payments, simple classic UI makes it more attractive easy to switch and add new bank accounts plus flawless payments.....
Maybe they should increase the transaction limit a bit, many people also use it in case of emergencies for easy and fast payments as adding beneficiary in actual internet banking process adds a minimum 24hrs delay.

I am an ardent fan of this app. Finally a govt. initiative that actually workED. I use the past tense as I am unable to use this app since the last few days to pay my bills. On clicking on my bills, i get all the details. But as soon as I click on PAY, the same screen comes back on and nothing further happens. I am unable to pay my bills. I have sent the feedback via the app too but no response. I wonder if I’ll get one for this one too or it’ll be the standard, ‘call your bank’. This is an app issue and not the bank. Kindly pls help me out. I love this app and would hate to have to start using a wallet.

This app has been a saving grace and good replacement for carrying cash. I have introduced this to many people and unfortunately I have hit a roadblock which I don’t know how to solve. I have a PIN issue in this app, I have uninstalled the app, changed my UPI ID, reinstalled and changed the PIN, waited for 2 hours when did not work and did forget password & reset but the issue persists. I am not sure how to resolve this and I feel absolutely handicapped without this app. Need some assistance pls! Would appreciate a call back.

I downloaded this app on launch and was not impressed at all. But recently downloaded the app and I am so impressed with this.
I have a few suggestions for future improvement. I requested payment to a number through the app, but for some reason the payment landed on PayTM. Which should not have been the case. They should give the option to receive payment in primary account.
Also if I share my UPI ID with someone for payment then we should receive the option to receive the payment through any of the linked accounts.

When i enter the PIN it says incorrect PIN. However with that same PIN i am able to login to my Banks Mobile Banking app. Also when i try it reset the PIN it asks for debit card number and expiry. But when i enter debit card number it says invalid card details. I suspect it is still match my old card details
I have tried reset PIN as well but it is not accepting new debit card details
My Bhim app stopped working after my Bank changed my Debit card and gave me chip card. I contacted bhim app support multiple times but no response. May be i am expecting too much from GOI. This way even this initiative will die and add to one more failure of this GOI

So basically when this app was launched then I installed it and because that time it was full of bug. even I was not able to add my bank account, so uninstalled and forgot it that time.
Now a days I keep seeing bhim payment option in almost every payment page so again installed it for a try and wow this app is so improved and does its job very well.
Interface is so clean, adding and switching bank account is so easy. App is quite secure itself and because it is like your bank account is directly stored here so no need to add balance frequently like other wallet apps.
Now we can directly transfer money without going through long process via net banking
Thanks to developers and government for this concept.

Loved this app. While I had downloaded the app earlier I transacted just today. The security is adequate - just a suggestion to keep the transaction and login pin to be six digits rather than four digits. Also alphanumeric if possible as it makes it difficult to crack the password.
The speed of transfer is fantastic. I did have to cancel the previous version and download the app again since the screen asking for mobile verification got stuck.
The app needs more publicity !! Great work.

Thanks for making the app compatible with VoiceOver.. Minor glitches 1.in the login page scan and pay is heard twice. Password is not labelled. 2. Scan receive Burton are selected without text. 3.while entering amount keyboard should appear automatically. There is no done or submit button on the keyboard.. I have to move to amount and right swipe to exit keyboard. 3.while checking balance the amount cannot be selected.
