Please note that AnkiMobile is currently intended as a companion to the computer version of Anki, rather than a complete replacement for it. While AnkiMobile is able to display and schedule your cards in the same way the computer version does, certain changes like modifying note types need to be done with the computer software. Add-ons are not supported, so while you can study image occlusion cards created with the computer version, they can not be created within AnkiMobile. For this reason, please start with the computer version of Anki before you think about buying this app.
The cloud synchronization service is optional, and data can also be imported/exported from the app via a USB cable or AirDrop.

The only reason why i love Anki is because of the cropping tool in android… now i have shifted to ios im not able to do it,,, i use goodnotes they have this feature of non restrictive cropping even after using the default camera app, Yes this is a feature that is so handy …. I never regret buying the paid version for my iPad,
but a bunch of features could be added to make the app much more powerful.
1. Being able to manually crop a picture (captured using camera in-app) would go a long way, it’s just so sad having to go use Ankidroid whenever I need to crop a pic in-app.
2. I know Add-ons aren’t possible on iPad version, but at least adding Image Occlusion add-on somehow would be great!
TO BE FIXED: Also, Timer isn’t being shown on the review screen for iPad, even though the ‘Show Timer’ option is turned on. Please fix it

Some features I would like to have that would drastically save time while making cards :
1. An inbuilt OCR (I use Phone to make cards while studying from Book and have to use separate app for OCR.)
2. Cloze feature should have a *switch* to choose between 'all cloze with same number' and 'each cloze with different number'.

Although I absolutely love Anki and the process behind it, I am slightly disappointed in the iOS app. I hope the developers will read this review and consider some changes.
I am a medical student, and one of the things essential for my every day carry is portability. I do have a MacBook, but I tend to carry and use my iPad Pro more often. As Apple is developing the right hardware and the compatible software for the iPad Pro to function more like a replacement for the laptop, I think at this point, iPad Pro (or any iPad to some extent) is a viable laptop replacement for most people.
Everything I do in my day, I can do on my iPad. The only thing that I have to open my laptop for is to make flash cards in Anki. It is stupid. Why is there no option to make new note types, or even use the ones I custom made on my laptop? This is ridiculous because the Anki app on the iOS doesn’t have to be the companion app for the desktop version when the hardware is plenty capable on its own.
I have no issues paying for an app, and I understand needing to support the development of both the computer and the mobile applications. But it is ridiculous that the app is so limited in function that I am the one who has to compromise, even though I have made my contribution.

Why does the app not notify me when i need to study ? Lets say i learnt something today and created a deck. I expect the app to remind me to review it the next day. Instead i keep forgetting that i need to review the information and this defeats the purpose. I purchased this app to automate revision discipline which i lack yet the development team has forgot to put this basic thing in the app.

I thought a lot about buying the app then I went on the webpage and read your reasons for charging so much for it and it made real sense to me and helped me make a decision to purchase the app.
***Just a minor feedback
1. The new/review Order in the scheduling options will only work for the options that all decks use.
If I create a custom Options group the new/review order changes do not apply to that options group .
I have to set the options group to the mein now to use that feature.
If new/review order changes could also be applied for specific custom options it would be perfect .
Edit : yes I figured that out in time . Thank you .
2. add multiple images at one time instead of going thru the menu every time
Edit : thank you for the tip, I found it really helpful . Else I was individually selecting each photo, I just create the split screen now and drag the image.

I am unable to find a ‘give feedback’ option anywhere in the app, please add it if there is none as it makes it easy to give suggestions or report problems. Please make the audio play button smaller and in line with the text as in the windows desktop application. Thank you.
