February 03, 2024 at 7:45pm I’m trying pay through UPI and it is showing error Kotak Mahindra bank server is not responding. I have tried through all the Apps I have. Then I reached nearest ATM, which is SBI. Surprisingly ATM says transaction is declined by bank. What could be the worst than this. This is not the first experience I had. I have raised this issue when ever customer relation manager calls me. I get no ticket for the issue I raised. What if I’m in hospital or in some emergency? And this happens again?
Word bank to invest also because banking servers are worst with these slow servers.

1.Most of the time not getting push notification when a UPI transaction is initiated. 2. If session gets expired, it goes back to the previous task when it got expired, for example, if session got expured after scanning qr, when we open app again , IT LOGS IN INTIALLY THEN GIVES SESSION EXPIRED. The initial login should be avoided. And also if we relogin after session expiry, it takes back to the previous place where it got expired, in this case, scanning of QR code, but instead it should show the home screen and invalidate all other actions. Please update your app

I currently hold two Savings accounts and one Business Pro Series account with Kotak Bank. However, I've encountered challenges with their support services, finding them lacking and overly complicated. Relationship Managers seem focused solely on meeting targets.
During a recent visit to the bank, I overheard a customer expressing a desire to open a minor account for his son. Surprisingly, the Relationship Manager persuaded him to open a savings account for his wife, linking it to the minor account. This incident raises concerns about transparency in Kotak Bank's practices.
Due to these issues, I am considering switching to another banking provider that prioritizes customer transparency and support.

One screwed up bank….with one much more screwed up application….with the worst and the most helpless customer support on the planet (funny part is when I had to actually explain the process of how to IMT)….nothing more than a IVR ….recently opened a current account also with them like a fool…will straight up close it on Tuesday can’t imagine how much losses there glitches might put us into…..they screwed up the entire meaning of cardless cash withdrawal-basically it is for emergency purposes, like when you forget your card ,wallet, you have nothing just your phone and this happens in Kotak Mahindra Bank on emergency situations. It’s been more than 10 hrs since my money is stuck in there server…and tomorrow is Sunday day after tomorrow is Christmas today was fourth Saturday three days they have blocked corners. How much money across the country with a small glitch, sounds so cheap.

I am feeling bad that how a worst bank Kotak bank is maintaining good review rating. In the app ‘drag the slider to the left to disable the auto debit option for credit card’ is not functioning. So I’m not able to turn off the auto debit facility for my Kotak league credit card. When sufficient balance is not maintained in my Kotak savings account kotak bank charged me Rs 450 plus gst . By default Kotak bank turn on auto debit facility when they issue credit card. I never seek auto debit facility for my card. I write to Grievance redressal Level 1 and still even they don’t reply and resolve my issue. I have used all major banks in India , never face such scam . I used to be fascinated by reading Kotak bank founder Uday Kotak sir life story. Actually now for me He is running a scam in the name of zero balance savings account 811.

Most of the time app does not get open and specially when its most needed and after opening it’s cannot work and always shows a server issue and pay attention to use this bank not for very primary usage and bigger transactions if there are big money in the acc the bank freezes your account without any reason and you call customer care no. In my 23 years of breathing, I have never left a review for any product or app. This will be my first, and it will be full of overwhelming and passionate hate. This is the worst banking app of all banks, and i’ve used various. It is so buggy and lags all the time, you can’t pay credit card bills if you want to pay custom amount with a decimal point (eg. ₹100.5). The app hides many function because of curved screen in new iPhones, and it cannot function without crashing and logging me out once every time I open it.
Kotak services are also abhorrent, with servers crashing once a week without fail, disabling UPI. If you have an account in Kotak, move it to any other bank immediately, this will be the worst experience you have, no matter which account you have.

Kotak bank customer care staff is not good. Their mobile banking app is not working properly they do not accept their faults even if you will provide them logical facts. Their bank app is not working in iPhone SE so not able to login in mobile banking and they are asking user to change the device instead of asking their app developer to check the application why it is not working in a device where the OS is compatible . Why anyone will buy new mobile just to use their mobile banking. Will be switching my bank accounts from Kotak bank to some other bank either with ICICI or HDFC because Kotak bank services are worthless.

I've been using the Kotak app since the last 5 years and never faced any problems, however when you want to dive deeper and use the credit cards rewards or offers section, the page completely hangs and you've to kill the app and start the workflow again. The UI for these lesser used pages is also not updated like the commonly used sections like account summary or credit card summary. Would be good if the updates can keep a consistent UI and solve the pages hanging issues.

This application is not application it’s a nightmare if you’re a kotak user. I don’t know how the developers have designed this but just because you have n number of options doesn’t make it reliable! Its been a week since the technical issue pop up appears in my application, not just mine i have got to know others are facing this too! I can’t transact, I can’t access my credit card on app, can’t change pin! What a pathetic level of service. I mean even a simple level iOS application will work fine rather than this pathetic application. I would just suggest if you don’t want to loose your customers which you’re already loosing, atleast fix this application.

Old UI Remnants & Annoying Maintenance Timings

First Issue: Maintenance is on Saturdays during day time in India. WHY?! Are you also serving customers in the US? Is this yet another case of Indian customers made second citizens to people in the West?
Second issue: It’s been 2 years since I reported that your stupid bill payment component doesn’t save bills for more than 3-5 days from the time they’re generated. They keep disappearing from the app even though the actual billers provide time to pay the bills for another 15-20 days. What is so challenging in looking into this and getting back to me. I literally took the time to call up your support personnel and write a detailed email to you and that was for nothing. If you’re so uninterested in actioning valid feedback, DON’T ASK FOR IT!!
Third issue: I like the new interface for credit card view. I like that I can see the credit card number and the CVV. Why is there not the same for managing debit card? I constantly have to fetch my wallet and take out the physical card for the number and CVV. And a bloody copy button for the card number FFS. ICICI does this for both debit and credit cards, why can’t you?!
Minor side issue: Your UI is all over the place. Old UI is mixed in with the new. This really looks bad for your developers. Fix it.

Face ID Automatic Working Problem

I have been noticing that if you're using the Touch ID or Face ID, this is for iPhone users, once you click on logout there are a few steps before you're completely logged out.
On the message box that says you're logged out of the Kotak app, when you click Ok, it should logout of the app. Here since I am using the Face ID, after I click on ok it signs me in again immediately as it somehow re authenticates the Face ID.
This is an issue and I only see it on the kotak app. I've been using the apps provided by other banks and they've handled the Face ID logging in very well.
Fix it as it a risk if someone thinks they're logged and and the application hasn't kicked out the user completely.

Customer service and chat support is not at all responsive , Kotak bank is totally not worth it . My account is freezed since more than 7 months . I want to know the status of my account is it unfreezed yet or no . But the bank is not at all responsive . I don’t know what is the issue . I have visited the branch as well and completed all the formalities. I recommend not to open an account in Kotak . The customer support is responsible for this issue . I will have to escalate this issue to social media platform if my issue is not solved from your concerned team . The rating I prefer is zero not even 1 according to me . Many times I tired to call customer support but the agent is not available. What’s wrong with u people . For what purpose do u act like this . Scan and Pay option not working

Previous to the latest update scan and pay was working perfectly. After update, Scan and pay option never works and always pops up error “sometime went wrong”.But your amount will get deducted without you getting any sms or email . This happened with me 2 where this scenario happened and since it gave me error so had to pay through GooglePay and later while checking the statement I got to know i jave paid twice.
Apart from this lately the server is too slow and most of the time it’s down

I’m an iPhone user and one of my family members added me to iPhone family group. Now in spite of being removed from that group, I’m not able to update the app to the latest version and hence not able to access the account from phone(which is a usual, hence perpetual source). Every-time I try and update it , the alert flashes- Please ask the family member to update correct payment details! Why can’t I use the earlier version? Why the compulsion to update the app? Please suggest a solution

First time I face this type of bad experience with Kotak 811 … I took Kotak consumer loan of mobile throw flip kart I got the product and payed first EMI today 5-mar-2022 means yesterday… EMI got cut from bank that’s ok… extra 235 got cut from my account but it’s not showing in my statement for what reason it got deducted… I tried to reach Kotak 811 customer care they told to call Kotak consumer loan department I call them but there no response from them…I tried to reach them 5 to 6 times but call is not connecting they just putting me on hold for 15 to 20 minutes but call not connected to Exective… I called 5 to 6 time I got charged 100rs just for waiting on line to connect customer care Exective but call didn’t got connected and my issue didn’t got resolve yet… just want to know reason why this amount of 235 got deducted from my account… I repeat first time I am facing this issue with Kotak 811 in my 3 year experience…

Kotak Mahindra Bank's mobile banking app is one of the best in the industry. I have been using HDFC, ICICI, AXIS, SBI apps and even used STANDARD CHARTERED app. Among all of these, Kotak's app stands apart. The most exciting feature is that you can add multiple CRNs. All the sections of the app are user friendly and easy to use. Only one thing, Kotak should remove the restriction of sending a maximum of Rs 25,000/- to a newly added payee for the first 24 hours. This sometimes becomes an inconvenience, when it comes to sending a larger amount to a new payee. Hope, Kotak will remove this restriction. Rest all fine.

Ground staff doing what they want with customers, while the top bracket do not want to acknowledge the very existence of their customers… no one seems to care, not even customer care department… your supposed Relationship Manager (which in fact are more of Relationship Damagers) and your BM are powerless with zero knowledge and/or authority, hence demotivated to even want to help the customer !
Too many heads rolling, replaced by untrained Personnel… hence no specific Kotak Culture to offer customers a sense of security and belonging…
The way they run their branch is by asking and checking with their subordinates ‘what to and how to’… clearly displaying their lack of knowledge and confidence !
Which is why Kotak has moved from my Primary to Secondary Bank…
I am yet to meet a Smart & Confident Kotak BM or RM who can speak the Banking language..
I wish someone Senior enough to make a difference reads this feedback and finds the time to contacts me at leisure to hear my woes duly supported by evidence, for their own sake, cause they’ve lost me any which way having suffered at the hands of their front-liners.

First thing first the bank is being ridiculous to me for a time now. I’ve been charged multiple time for unnecessary reasons. I’m being told that it’s post declined fee’s by the customer care though I haven’t used this account for transactions. And it’s been a happening quite often and had my lots of money being deducted. After watching what’s going on for while I decided to close my account and I and contacted and spoke to customer care service and they advised me to go directly to the area branch and when I went there they be like we cannot bloody close the account you need to contact the 811 service for the approval for closing the account is this some kind of pathetic joke been trying here and there just to close a bank account!

Be4 I was like it is one of the best bank but now I think it is one of the wast bank all my friends and family members are using Kotak I am openly saying them to freeze the account and get a new account done in SBI because this bank is a fraud be4 a month I took a packet of cigarettes I payed him 180 once in the bank app it showed something went wrong so I tried again after going and checking my balance they have dedected twice I checked that persons bank statement every thing he only got once this fraud transaction has happened with me 3 tyms one is 180,2000 and 100 either refund the money or I will take strict action against it

I am trying to directly contact to their customer care, but I couldn’t because they have their virtual assistance keya, which is totally waste. I am trying to open new account and want to close my old account because my number not exist anymore and I don’t remember any details apart from that and that’s why I am trying to contact customer care, so that they can help me in better way, but as we can see they have keya which first want number which I don’t have. Thank you , at least I got an option to write here. To say I what I feel. I was crying over the call to 3 agents I spoke to. All disconnected the call on me. I was begging telling I don’t have money. My money is help , I have baby who is one year old and I don’t have money to meet his basic food requirements, I don’t have money to buy his milk. Even if it was a stranger on road they would have helped me. But Kotak bank chose to make me suffer more. I told your phone bankers I have borrowed 200rs to recharge to call. And just in getting through the chat bot atleast 30 times I called I typed and followed IVR options but ur so called keya did not understand anything. And all my recharge money exhausted , n I told the agents if I get disconnected please call back I don’t money. But all of them r so rude so adement. I could not get to speak to a supervisor. How can someone be so insensitive and heartless to not understand a toddler requirement . I dint have money to afford his milk. God will never forgive people involved in this. Specially the agent who mis-sold the credit card. If you guys have 1% mercy left on me n my child investigate this , heat all the calls. Hear my cry , hear my frustration. Keep the money for yourself. Just hear everything I said to wake ur humanity up. I give up with u guys now they do I have money to call.

I never experienced such a think that recharging for talking to a customer care, even a soap or shampoo company also have a toll free number. Our unlimited calling plan is not enough we have to recharge separately to talk to Kotak Customer Care. I spent almost thousands of rupees just to talk to Kotak Customer Care in addition they don’t resolve our issues. My mobile banking is still under blocked I requested many times to unblock. Here also they are just replying saying that send an email to—- and the reality is they don’t respond for that email. If are looking to open an account don’t do it, if your an existing customer close your account immediately.

I was recommended to open a NRO a/c with Kotak and did last week and the worst I experienced in my life. Front office as well as branch persons are not aware of the changes and the information provided by back office is entirely different. Biggest joke is that I was prompted thrice to change my User Name seven times to change my User Password. On frustration I called the concerned person and to my surprise he also experienced the same problem in User Name and User Password. Finally after two hours I was informed that there’s a technical snag and shall be rectified in three days. So far no information or any update. Pl avoid Kotak instead there are other better banks who also gives better services.

Activated account few months back and then it was locked without any notice or verification, stating that Aadhar number could not be verified, however there was no call received or verification attempt made..without any notice the money is stuck in account and now we are told to visit home branch... in the year 2020 someone expect to go to home branch of an account for a verification of Aadhar card..very bad service..no number available to contact or any help available...stuck with stupid app

Holding back customers’ refund amount

I had booked my flight tickets from kotak debit card but couldn’t travel due to COVID restrictions. The flight carrier, Indigo immediately issued the credit shell amount which was cleared by EaseMyTrip successfully on 31st August 2020. The bank has been holding back my refund amount for three months now. When I spoke to the customer care, they assured me that the request will be processed within 3 days. When I followed up again after 5 days, I am told that the request will be processed within 52 days. Is this a bloody joke? This bank is worse than government banks. In another instance, which I ignored earlier, they cancelled my credit card after I cleared my dues amounting to rupees 60,000 at once. They didn’t even have the courtesy to inform me about it or explain the reason. When I called the customer care and asked why the credit card was discontinued after the bill was cleared, they just told because of internal reasons that can’t be disclosed. I hope the internal reasons are not incompetency and ignorance. Worst experience ever!!

One of the drawback of kotak app is they do not have real time update on expenditure statementand they really lag behind in this field, if i pay at some place it get updated on app statements after 2-3 days which is worst thing to observe, customer do not get idea of what exact limit of credit card is remaining, if i do payment of CC it does not get updated on the spot it take 2-3 days to get updated in my statement which is irritating

Been trying for days to get a new debit card via this app but their system is literally always down!
I had to repurchase a card also due to negligence from their support system. My card got blocked almost 6 months back or even more, tried contacting them by contacting their call centre even visited their branch but no one is able to help me with such a basic task such has unlocking a card! Everytime I try a different method they act so promising at first but by the end of it it’s again said that “Please try tomorrow ma’am our server is down currently” I mean when is it not?
I finally gave up and tried purchasing a new debit card itself by spending extra money but again the same old excuse even on their app.

I’ve been trying to open this app from a long time now and I just can’t open it. From last one month, it’s happening quite often. Neither am I being able to access my account not being able to make any online transactions because of this. I’ve been trying to open my application from last 12 hours and I am not being able to do it. And please don’t tell me to delete and reinstall the application, because I’ve already tried. It’s still not working. It’s happening since the new update of the application came. And I don’t think it can be because of my phone. My phone is new which I bought only 2 months ago and everything else works absolutely fine. I need to make some urgent payments, please fix this bug as soon as possible.

1. Complete day i was not able to transfer money.
2. Money got deducted twice while the screen was still loading for success message. As i tried thrice and notification of same I received after 10 mins that too twice.
3. During this lockdown period my dearest one went to the bank to return me back by depositing in bank which is around 2-3km.
What’s the use of a stupid nonsense app when the people has to come out for bank. And even after notifying same on social media the reply was “we are aware and working on it be patient” no pre-notifications of it. Is it some kind of joke with the money due to nonsense useless app.

The banking is great. Customer support, management is great. The review should be about application so here I’m mentioning related to it. Shows all your banking related details in easy and smooth user interface designed. App works flawless. Book your FD, transfer money, do a payment or download a statement is just finger tips. The development team is improving app constantly and bugs are addressed as requested. The plus is security and implementation of face recognition or password to open the app is must in now a days. The Kotak Mahindra Banking App used to function flawlessly before, however, after this new Mandatory Security Update, the App does not even open and screen shows just the Cover Page with Secure Banking and nothing else happens. Also, even if one tries to click somewhere on the page in the hope that the app would restart, the activity goes futile.
It used to be simple and easy, and we Customers would like it to be the same way. Please look into the matter and resolve the issue at the earliest in order to get the banking activities done with ease in current lockdown scenarios. Hoping for the best to be served from such a wonderful banking system.

Hi Support,
The app isn’t opening for me since a day (Nothing new I reckon)! I am constantly getting a prompt that system is unable to open. Please, fix this asap - it has been more than 12 hours and in this unfortunate time of pandemic we need zero disruption in digital services from our banks at the very least.
Further, I have raised complaints in the past too but I haven’t seen any improvements in the sphere of communication, so let me reiterate - Send the customer a communication regarding down times and errors so that we are aware of them and plan accordingly.
You send out useless SMS’s and automated emotionless CEO mails that honestly don’t mean anything to me nor do make sense to me. However, I don’t see any communication sent to me regarding this downtime nor any previous application errors.
Accountability and responsibility should be your core values otherwise trust me - it won’t take me long to bid adieu to your bank and shift my corporate account to some place where I am taken seriously.
Resolve this issue urgently and I hope for a continued ease of access regarding services and honest communication. We customers are not unreasonable but neither do we appreciate dishonesty and lack of communication.

The app gets crash whenever I’m trying to open it. Earlier versions of this app allowed users to check and transact when phone was running only on wifi. But now I realise that u need to have cellular mobile network in your phone so that the app works normally. Please understand people who are away from home at sea or on ships cannot have mobile network all the time they use wifi to see there banking activities . Please Try and make it more useful . Right now whenever m trying to launch the app the app crashes but when I had cellular mobile network it was working fine . Please check and revert back on this

Fraud on credit card

Kotak cards are severely prone to hacks. My credit card was recently misused and hacked and I raised a complaint. They called me and told me that it takes 35 working days to resolve but in the exact 35th day they sent an email with the merchant documents and asked if I would like to proceed with the dispute. The email I received was from NOREPLY which means we are not supposed to reply back to the email. When I called the customer support they just kept saying that they ll reach out and can’t give me a timeline on the resolution. Today an executive called me and said the revised timeline is 90 working days now. Customer support was horrible and 90 days is highly unacceptable. This has happened to a lot of people who have Kotak cards.

Since I started using Kotak account you almost deducted my 4500 to 5000 rupees.
First almost 5 month before from now bank deducted my 2000rs so i went to bank they gave their rebuttal that you are not mentaning money in your account blah blah that time I didn’t said anything and I converted my account to 0 balance saving and even they said their will be no deduction from now but freaking after 5 month they are charging me again each charge is for 550rs their was just 2500rs in account and they deducted all if their were more they even would’ve been taken that as well you are Scammer Kotak fully scam is that the way you work, they and their complaining services even thats 3rd class

Face id login

There is a bug in this app with face id logout. If you have enabled face id on this app and try to logout, it should log out and stay out and should log in only when you use login. Instead, once logd out it will pop out a message saying “ are you sure you want to log out” when you press ok again it will throw others message “you are logged out of kotak mobile banking app” once you press ok it will log you back in with face id instead staying in logged off mode.

I updated my account from 811 kyc into 811 Edge accounts last month. After that i am unable to use 811 features in app section. Like i have to apply for debit that option is not working or not even virtual debit card can accessed there messages shown quoted “this feature is only available for 811 customers” i am also 811 customer i just upgarde the account varient . Trying to reach customers care many time but unable to get resolution. Kindly look into this matter and hoping response from your side.

Most of the time the server is low any requests for applying credit card, personal loan or anything will not be going to open until you die or else find the alternate option. Apart the transaction keep blocking the money in between the server you will never get what u need at the utmost time.
There Artificial intelligence of helpline is more sucking while your money is stuck she didn’t even get the proper words like money deduction UPI, or UPI transaction issue. She keep telling you the same thing press this like that or blah blah. They are not at all concerned about the service they are providing they are only bothering for the money they are getting for RD, FD they have proper specific excellent response and service but at the time of apply for PL and CC they are pathetic there own server not supporting the request. Please improve the services for the app.
Even SBI app is better than this.
Mobile banking is not at all tolerable.

Very usable but needs to handle timeout better

A well laid out app with very clean interface. Uses the TouchID well. Just that the authentication timeout sequencing makes the experience a little weird. Open the app, and go to the payments tab. The app first asks for the PIN, and then says that session has timed out, so asks for TouchID and then does nothing. So have to select the payments tab again and enter the pin again.
Also, transfer screen uses a side scroller for selecting the beneficiary. If you have lot of them, it's very painful and slow because of network access every time the scroll changes.
Change these, and you can get to 5 stars

I don't think there is further need of improvements in the app except for bug fixes

First of all the need of a mobile app is to bank from wherever you are and this app does that perfectly. I visit the bank just to deposit hard cash.... All other works can be done through the app itself.... One of the apps in which you get the finest, free flowing and hassle free experience.
Expecting support for apple watch as well, where we can approve UPI transactions, see the OTP we receive, etc,.

Even the app description provides by Kotak mentions if you face problem uninstall third party apps. I have 100 apps on my mobile. Can’t start uninstalling them on trial and error basis to open Kotak bank app. If at all please provide list of major third party apps used widely that breach your security policies.

Dear kotak team, i am using this app from last one year. The app is so very usefull in many terms. But from last two updates i am facing a problem in the app that i use to do multiple RTGS in a day and earlier the app use to show me the name of beneficiery along with the utr number and amount in the account summary but now there is only utr number and amount. It is now not showing the beneficiery name in the app.
So please look out the problem for proper solution.

Since started my experience with Kotak I have found a good services by everyone however since last 3 months I have got a excellent service i.e replying to emails on time and active my account with one of your staff Ms. Gunjan who helps me a lot and advise to active my NRE/NRO account when I really needed. So thanks to her obvious.
Got new features in app.
Transactions are faster now.
Would it be possible for you to add any overseas mobile numbers to get notifications of transactions which is obvious faster than the emails as I am working in remote sites sometimes and thus not allowed to carry new versions mobiles due to restrictions, let m know.

Kotak Bank app better than most banks

The app for Kotak Bank is extremely easy to use and the experience almost mirrors that on the internet. I have used other bank apps like ICICI, HDFC & Dena. And and this is one of the best for ease of use.
All others have a different interface between the web and the app and makes it confusing to navigate. This one is really intuitive and never once did I get stuck or need to go back and forth to finish what I needed to do. I have made credit card bill payments, activated beneficiaries, made payments via NEFT, IMPS, etc and all done seamlessly and easily.

I am trying to check my balance and even after updating the application its giving me invalid session error and system couldn’t process your request error. I have to do a UPI transaction, pay my bills and here I am stuck with this freaking error. You mentioned in your update you fixed the major crashing issue.

Substandard banking practice followers

I have been a loyal customer to Kotak Mahindra bank via 811 and then converted to savings considering the ease of transactions. However it's with a sad note I'm ending this account due to unnotified deductions in my bank account for depositing money in the account. I was completely unaware that I'm not supposed to deposit more than 10 times a month into a savings bank. I was deducted 1500rs lately and the bank has no answer to this radical movement by the bank. Kotak has shown how substandard a bank can go to loot money from its customers who value their hard earned money. If there was a 0 rating I would have done that here. So please be aware of the hidden agenda before banking with these kind of banks.

The app lost one of the most important feature

I am a long time heavy user of the app and one of the most important feature for me was the ability to add beneficiaries from all the one time transfers done from my account. This list was kind of non exhaustive and was very helpful when I needed to check transfer details from earlier period as there was no other was of knowing the transfer description except the add beneficiary from old one time transfer list. With this new update this very important feature has been omitted and you cannot check the mobile transfer details from net banking old transfer search feature also. Please add the support to see all the one time transfers as was available earlier.

How hard is it to make a decent app available to the users? Half the time the app refuses to work and other half of the time your “servers are updating.” Seriously, what is with your servers? Why do they need upgrading for 5 days every month?
For every transaction I need to make from now, I will take a day off from work and come to your branch for more sucky service.
Honestly, pull your socks up and stop sucking. It’s not that hard.
Also, about 4-5 of the quick access options like flight booking or mobile payments don’t work. What is even the point of having the options?
