Description
ZoomNotes is the most comprehensive visual note-taking app with huge zoom range. Make handwritten notes and sketches on virtual paper, huge WhiteBoards , PDF files, images and MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents (via GoogleDrive). Sync your documents between your iPad and iPhone with iCloud.

MULTIPLE PEN TYPES
There are 8 pen types to choose from including gel, nib, pencil and watercolour each with unlimited line thicknesses.
HANDWRITING RECOGNITION
Search handwritten notes.
DIGITAL PLANNING
Either import a planner pdf or use the ‘Custom digital planner’ option to create your own. You can configure a planner to show events and reminders from the Calendar and Reminder apps.
SUB-PAGES
This unique feature allows you to use ‘pages within pages’. This allows you to use sticky-notes and enables the creation of hierarchical visual files. You can also insert whole pdf files as sub-pages, or import pages from other ZoomNotes documents into a sub-page.
BOOKMARKS
Bookmarks allow you save views in your documents, and then return to them at a later date. There are animated playback facilities to allow you to present with or to create videos from your document.
LINKS
Add links between pages, and even between documents. This lets you create your own digital planners, enhance imported pdf planners or create indices.
SPLIT_SCREEN
Edit and view two documents side by side (or above and below). You can now also have 2 views of the same document.
CALENDAR EVENTS
Add events/reminders linked to your documents, possibly with alarms. The URL in the event links back to the document in ZoomNotes.
HUGE ZOOM RANGE, WHITEBOARD MODE
Zoom in and out without arbitrary limits including rotated views.
LAYERS
Layers let you control what is visible on a page, also options for 'master layers' which show on all pages.
WRITE OVER PDF FILES
Import and write over PDFs, Microsoft Office files Word, Excel and PowerPoint (via GoogleDrive).
UNLIMITED PAPER SIZES AND STYLES
Make your page as small or as large as you like. Choose any type of paper with our configurable paper types.
FULLY EDITABLE
In ZoomNotes, you can select, scale, rotate, shift and flip (mirror) objects. Cut, copy and paste are also available, including between documents, pages and other apps.
SHAPES AND ARROWS
Regular shapes and arrows (ideal for visual mapping); they can be drawn with the polygon tool or roughly drawn by hand and automatically converted into the exact geometric shape.
SYMBOL LIBRARY
Fully configurable library of reusable shapes and images.
IMAGES AND IMAGE EDITING
Insert images (photos) in your documents at any size and scale. Crop, mask, re-sample, edit transparency, scan-correct and deform images. Insert images and videos from camera or photo library.
TYPED TEXT
Enter typed text via keyboard; with a wide range of fonts and font sizes, font colours, fills and borders. Text can be entered at all zoom scales and can be selected and moved, scaled and rotated.
RECORD AND PLAYBACK SOUNDS
Including import and export of mp3 files. You can also insert a sound recording on the page to which it relates. Now linked to drawing.
SHARE DOCUMENTS
Share documents as PDF files, images, videos or ZoomNotes documents (via email, iTunes, clipboard, Dropbox, Twitter and Evernote, Airdrop, iCloud Drive and Open in.
USE FOR PRESENTATIONS
ZoomNotes is VGA compatible for use with projectors, monitors and AirPlay.
MAGNIFICATION WINDOW
Write into a zoomed in view whilst still viewing the zoomed out view.

New function to limit the resolution of image symbols (symbols which contain a single image). You can select the maximum image resolution you require and new symbols you create will be checked and resizes accordingly. You can also check existing symbols but beware this is not undoable!

Application is powerful, may confuse at starting only because of the way icons are designed. It’s easy to add hints don’t know why developers has not done. Please improve UI, you can acquire lots of market share by improving UI. Right now feels like I am using some 90’s tool. Higher a good ui developer.

App is great but every time there is update then old bugs are fixed and new bugs are introduced , sometimes zoom in window box scrolling stops , sometimes finger pan stops on pen selection , when this is fixed then there are new bugs . So unable to make it as default note taking apps due to so many bugs. If fixed then it’ll be number 1 note taking app.

Drawback is : cannot select book text ,copy and paste..

The only problem with zoom notes is that it’s hard to understand. In other popular note taking apps, when you open the app, you know what the tools do by looking at them, very little learning to do. ZoomNotes has all the features and even more that I didn’t even think of, please for the next few updates work on the interface (Specifically icons and menu, change menus from drop downs to pop outs wherever necessary like the new notebook drop down and settings drop down ), make it more user friendly without compromising on any existing feature and it will be better than any other note taking app that exists.

This app has plenty of options for customisation which I really liked. The no of tools and options is just exceptional. This is how functional a notes taking app should really be. You can customise nearly everything in this app as per your preference. Saving your tools, making symbol library and the linking feature truly made this app worth the money.The team is working hard and has now significantly improved the smoothness and removed bugs which I faced in the older versions. All in all very happy with the purchase. Highly recommended app for all students.

I have been using this app since a week and I found some lag while writing in this app using Apple Pencil (1st gen) on my IPad 7th generation. However, There is no such lag found in Notability and GoodNotes applications. I appreciate the usability of the features available in this app but the lagging of writing is not at all appreciable. So please provide suitable update for the same for 7th gen iPad.
Update: It is working now seamless after last update...

This app has tons of features which are very useful for sketchnoting. Only feature I wish is layer switching while working. One has to open the layer tool ban each time to charge the current layer.
If we can make the layer invisible faster by pinning the layer toolbar then we can use this for flashcards. plz provide pin for layer toolbar

I have used Noteshelf-2 and Nebo....but still I got attracted towards ZN.
ZN has more features than Noteshelf-2 and Nebo, but User-Interface is more attractive in Nebo and Noteshelf-2,if your priority is feature then go for ZN but if your priority is looks, user-interface then go for Note-shelf-2 and Nebo . only few basic features are missing in Zn otherwise every thing is fine with ZN.
This is an update review on 28 Dec, 2019, now the developers have introduced OCR ,Handwriting to text conversion, handwritten notes Universal as well as within document search and now after introducing these badass features they are on the league of top note taking apps.

The eraser and undo tool are HORRIBLE. I’m using this on an iPad Pro 10.5 inch and almost every other time you try to undo or erase anything you’ve written, it will randomly also erase some other content that you’ve written, absolutely annoying and really stupid flaw.
I’ve tried adjusting all the pressure and palm rejection settings and it’s definitely a bug in the app. Very very disappointing.
