Welcome to the Filicide Files. This is a true crime podcast that aims to uncover
the growing cases of parents who tragically take the lives of their children. I'm J
.C. Mayers, a researcher, storyteller, and a mom, and in each episode I unpack the
who, what, when, where, and why these unimaginable acts happen and the outcome.
Through my research and storytelling, I aim to shed light on filicide cases and
offer a compassionate, yet honest perspective on these complex stories. Before I
became a mother, I had a deep curiosity for true crime and what drives people to
commit acts of violence. As a parent, I want to explore the devastating cases of
people who tragically commit unspeakable acts of violence against the children they
created and are entrusted to protect.
