The wide-ranging conversation takes in the Sheffield music scene of the 1970s, the teenaged Mal, Chris Watson and Richard H. It's All About Vinyl is presented by Mark Roland and Push, two veteran music journalists whose long history with music journalism started with fanzines in the post-punk, new wave England of the 1980s, before ascending to the giddy heights of the weekly music press as writers and section editors at Melody Maker, and now as the founders of the widely respected music magazine and online platform Electronic Sound.
It's All About Vinyl is a podcast about records, the culture around them, and the strange, brilliant stories hiding in the grooves. From format quirks and forgotten formats to music history, magazines (actually quite a lot of mag chat), charts and scenes, each episode digs into why vinyl still matters – and why it always will. Drop the needle and join us. Warning: It is also entirely likely that the chat will veer wildly off course.
