I have to say I think Kirsty Young has possibly one of the best jobs out there. And she’s brilliant at it. How lucky to meet so many interesting, wise and inspirational people.

I’d also like to meet Kirsty too! You know she’s done thorough research before meeting her guest and asks such intelligent and emotionally on the button questions. She doesn’t shy of asking the difficult questions too.

Although reading the disc selection each week in The Week, I’ve only just started listening to this podcast. Ive been speeding through them and am very pleased to know I have 75 years worth of discs to keep me occupied.

What a fantastic program. Thank you for entertaining, enlightening and educating me in so many unforeseen ways.

I used to just listen when it was somebody I knew: now I’m learning about physicists and designers and doctors and they are often more interesting than the more famous guests.

Found out about this through the podcast “happy place”. Now I can’t stop listening to it! So many interesting people and brilliantly insightful conversations. Fabulous! Perfect listening when doing housework or driving :)

Such fascinating guests - Desert Island Discs is like radio chocolate. Even those guests who you find less initially appealing are coaxed into talking about their lives in an utterly compelling way thanks to Kirsty Young’s skill in asking the right question. Thought-provoking, moving, inspiring, always fascinating.
